Wim De Cock

  Wim De Cock studeerde altviool aan het Lemmensinstituut in de klas van Marc Tooten.

 

Wim werd laureaat altviool en meester in de kamermuziek met grootste onderscheiding. Tevens behaalde hij het hoger diploma altviool met grote onderscheiding.



Als freelance altviolist is Wim actief in verschillende orkesten. Hij was vaste altviolist van het Ballet Van Vlaanderen en jaren aanvoerder van het orkest "La Passione". Hij speelde en speelt op regelmatige basis mee in de Beethovenacademie, I Fiamminghi , Prima La Musica Hooverphonic, SuperSonic Symphony Orchestra en vele andere Ad Hoc-orkesten voor concerten en cd-opnames.

Naast orkestmuzikant is Wim ook actief op kamermuziekgebied. Hij is vast lid van SAFH4, Duo De Cock en QuadrAlti.



In 1996 startte hij de opleiding tot leraar Suzuki-methode en richtte in 2008 zijn eigen altvioolschool “Altelier” op. Op drie jaar tijd heeft hij deze unieke groep uitgebouwd tot een begrip in Europa waarin momenteel een 50-tal leerlingen Altviool zitten.

Als altvioolleerkracht is hij sinds 1994 fulltime verbonden aan de stedelijke academie voor muziek, woord en dans te Lier.
